ClientServ is Morgan Stanley’s retail brokerage site, and although targeted towards an audience that chooses to delegate many financial decisions, it still requires robust trading functionality and access to an enormous amount of data. ClientServ had grown organically over a number of years and didn’t represent the brand of Morgan Stanley–it needed an update.
The challenge was one of information design. How do you not only create an efficient trading platform, but present the huge amount of financial data to clients so that they can make sense of it?
Our solution focused on providing an answer to the seemingly simple question: “How am I doing?”. Providing an answer required integration of many separate views. Rather than holdings in one place, performance in another, cash balances somewhere else, we were able to intelligently combine this data to provide a snapshot of their situation.
