The challenge on this project was to address usability problems caused by inconsistencies in Marsh’s disparate family of web sites and applications. Marsh recognized that their online needs had outgrown their information architecture and design guidelines, and hired Moment to develop a more robust design system that could be used to guide future development.
Moment audited a range of Marsh’s many internal sites. We found that most internal sites were organised around the corporate structure, not on user needs and tasks. Furthermore, distributed site creators had interpreted the guidelines differently resulting in poor usability.
Following this audit, Moment developed a new scalable site architecture that allowed for efficient access to the breadth of Marsh’s offering and a new set of design guidelines to unify future sites and applications to ensure consistency and usability, while still providing flexibility for a diverse set of requirements.
